Chief Safety and Transformation Officer

As Chief Safety and Transformation Officer, Dr. Gandhi, MPH, CPPS is responsible for improving patient and workforce safety, and developing innovative healthcare transformation strategies. She leads the Zero Harm movement and helps healthcare organizations recognize inequity as a type of harm for both patients and the workforce. Dr. Gandhi also leads the Press Ganey Equity Partnership, a collaborative initiative dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities and the impact of racial inequities on patients and caregivers. Before joining Press Ganey, Dr. Gandhi served as Chief Clinical and Safety Officer at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), where she led IHI programs focused on improving patient and workforce safety.

Susan brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience leading safety, process improvement and in-situ simulation. She has worked in a variety of leadership and system improvement roles. After 10 years in clinical care and management, she moved to the improvement field with a focus on high reliability organizing, physician quality and safety, and managing organizational-level culture transformation.

Jennifer Heleski is the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services at Phoebe Putney Health System, where she has worked for over 17 years. As a former nurse manager of the Mother/Baby Unit, Jennifer now leads efforts to plan and launch the hospital’s new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the upcoming Trauma & Critical Care Tower—an ambitious project that promises expanded space and enhanced care for vulnerable neonates. She also supports the nursing profession regionally through her leadership role with AWHONN’s Southwest Georgia chapter.
